- Answered 25 Feb 2020 Conflict of interest declaration: None I'm no expert but to attain magnet status appears more complex. I found a fairly gentle introduction "Magnet Recognition Program—Areas for Improvement" . There appear to be 5 domains  which I assume are assessed. Magnet “is not a single project, but an ongoing process that promotes a culture of nursing excellence” and “involves the dedication and commitment of the entire organisation”  and takes 3-6 years.
